Date: 23 September 2011
HMCTS has requested the JAC recommend up to 10 Recorders (Crime) to sit on the Northern Circuit. This will be in addition to the original 98 vacancies (Crime and Family) on the South East, Wales, Western and North Eastern Circuits. The Northern Circuit was not originally included.
HMCTS has asked that the JAC fill the additional vacancies as part of the current Recorder selection exercise (00555). The vacancies are for immediate appointment.
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) is therefore, now inviting applications for the post of Recorder (Crime) to sit on the Northern Circuit only. If you wish to apply you will not be able to be considered for any other vacancies on other Circuits previously advertised in this selection exercise.
To be fair to current Recorder (Crime) candidates already invited to selection days (now underway), we have written to inform them of this change and to offer them the opportunity to include this new circuit in their location preferences.
If you have previously submitted an application for the Recorder (00555) selection exercise, either in the Crime or Family jurisdiction, which closed on 31 March 2011 and were not invited to a selection day following the Qualifying Test, you are unable to apply again for these additional vacancies.
You can access the information pack and application form for these 10 additional vacancies here
