PROFESSIONALS and volunteers with substantial experience of working with victims of violent crime are being encouraged to put themselves forward for judicial roles. The positions are available for the first time in six years from today.

Date: 13 December 2011

This is also the first time the independent Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) has been asked to select individuals for these opportunities. The last occasion was through the Home Office. Those applying may have acquired their experience through working in such areas as social services, the probation service, healthcare, or through work with charities supporting victims of violent crime.
