Lady Justice Hallett appointed Chairman of the Judicial Studies Board

Following consultation with the Lord Chancellor, the Lord Chief Justice has appointed Lady Justice Hallett DBE to be Chairman of the Judicial Studies Board from 31 July 2010.

Lady Justice Hallett will continue to be JAC Vice Chairman until that time. Lord Justice Toulson, who has been a JAC Commissioner since 2007, will become the new Vice Chairman on her departure.

The JAC is enormously grateful for the contribution made by Lady Justice Hallett to the development of the organisation and its work. Lady Justice Hallett has been a Commissioner since the JAC was established in April 2006 and became Vice Chairman in 2007 on the retirement of Lord Justice Auld.  We wish her every success in her new role.
