Covers a wide range of frequently asked questions at candidate seminars - updated October 2012
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) works with partner organisations to provide a number of seminars across England and Wales throughout the year.
On the right hand side of this page you will find a presentation for use by teachers and lecturers in schools and colleges. The slides provide a simple guide to the JAC, who we are, our responsibilities and the range of judicial roles we select for. Please feel free to download and use as a classroom or lecture aid.
Alongside this you will also find a PDF to download of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) prepared by the JAC in response to questions and misconceptions often rasied by prospective candidates. We hope you find this of use.
BAME/JAC outreach events
Law Society , Bar Council and CILEx in association with the JAC have organised a series of events for minority lawyers to better inform them of the recruitment selection process for judicial appointment. The events are free and the session will also include practical advice from BME judges who have been through the process.
