The Judicial Appointments Commission is inviting applications for appointment to the office of District Judge in the Magistrates' Courts.

30 vacancies:

  • 16 vacancies on the South Eastern Circuit;
  • 7 vacancies on the North Eastern Circuit;
  • 4 vacancies on the Midland Circuit;
  • 2 vacancies on the Northern Circuit; and
  • 1 vacancy on the Western Circuit

Jurisdiction

  • 20 vacancies in the Crime jurisdiction (sitting only in the Magistrates' Courts);
  • 9 vacancies in the Crime and Family jurisdictions (sitting in the Magistrates' Courts and the Family Proceedings Court); and
  • 1 vacancy in the Family jurisdiction (sitting only in the Family Proceedings Court).

Five of the Crime posts and four of the Crime and Family posts are suitable for salaried part-time working. Further details of the locations and available patterns of the posts are given in the information pack available.

It is anticipated that the posts will become vacant over the course of the next two to three years.
