
If you have been a solicitor, barrister, advocate or Fellow of ILEX for at least five years you could be eligible to become a chairman in the Employment Tribunals.
The Judicial Appointments Commission is currently looking for 20 salaried and 34 fee paid chairmen to join the Employment Tribunals at a variety of locations across England and Wales.
Salaried Chairman (ref 00387): £101,400
Fee Paid Chairman (ref 00386): £443 per day
The salaried posts will require candidates to exercise a high level of judicial skill and experience in dealing with cases of legal and factual complexity while ensuring high standards of case management. You will also need to be comfortable acting as a mentor to fee paid chairmen. Opportunities for salaried part-time working are available.
For the fee paid posts you will need to be confident in enabling parties to present their case, assimilating the facts on a wide range of employment issues and reaching high quality decisions.
