00356: Senior Circuit Judges - Birmingham

The Judicial Appointments Commission is inviting applications for appointment as a Senior Circuit Judge in Birmingham.

 There are three vacancies.

Specialist Senior Circuit Judge (Chancery)
You will play a pivotal role in managing the Chancery List, including supervising the staff responsible for listing. You will also be responsible for hearing urgent applications (including on paper and by telephone), and hearing appeals from District Judges in appropriate cases.

Specialist Senior Circuit Judge (Technology and Construction Court)
Judges of the Technology and Construction Court (TCC) are responsible for resolving technology and construction disputes. You will play a pivotal role in the management of the court, of TCC business, and of other judges who hear this work.

Designated Civil Judge
In this role, you will ensure the just and efficient allocation and despatch of business of the group of courts within your jurisdiction, and will liaise closely with all other judges who hear civil work. You will have responsibility, under the guidance of the Presiding Judges, for the overall strategy for civil justice and will therefore sit for the greater part of your time in civil work.
