Helping to lead Tribunals

The Health, Education and Social Care (HESC) Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal brings together the former jurisdictions of the Mental Health Review Tribunal and Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST) for England, and the Care Standards Tribunal (CST). Its work is varied and challenging, relating to the needs of patients, professionals, service providers and users, children, parents and the public.

The Judicial Appointments Commission is seeking two Deputy Chamber Presidents of the HESC. Together with the Chamber President, you will constitute the senior judicial team. You will need to demonstrate excellent judicial, leadership, management and organisational qualities. One Deputy will specialise in the mental health jurisdiction and be based in London or Manchester; the other will be responsible for the remaining jurisdictions and will be based in London.
