About the role
The Business and Property Courts of England and Wales were launched in July 2017 and comprise the Commercial Court (including the Admiralty Court), the Technology and Construction Court and the courts of the Chancery Division. In London these specialist jurisdictions operate together at the Rolls Building and there are also five main regional centres.
Specialist Civil Circuit Judges are expected to carry out the full duties of a Circuit Judge together with additional leadership and administrative duties. They are also expected to hear particularly demanding or specialist cases. The successful candidate will sit on Chancery and Commercial work and the other specialist jurisdictions dealt with by the Business and Property Courts. They will be required to work closely with the other Specialist Civil Circuit Judges and the court staff at the Central London County Court in order to deliver a first class, responsive service to the business, property and financial sectors.
